BK1664882259 0 Posted February 24, 2012 these holga tree variations would work well collected in a book. Link to comment
jp zorn 0 Posted February 24, 2012 thanks. yes, i've thought that also. i have my giant holga collection edited down to 4 sets at Flickr (pond, woods, garden, wendigo) and those sets probably represent what 4 books would look like: http://www.flickr.com/photos/68845799@N00/sets/ Link to comment
stp 6 Posted March 1, 2012 I've had the same thought. Individually, these may have a relatively hard time standing on their own (or being understood by viewers), but collectively one would get a larger sense of purpose across the range of photographs. Link to comment
jp zorn 0 Posted March 1, 2012 well i take them as individual pictures and they are meant to each stand on their own merits. i have posted a lot of these photos here so folks by now should have some sense of what i'm doing. Link to comment
stp 6 Posted March 1, 2012 But what if someone is seeing this for the first time, and it's the first of your photos they've seen? Link to comment
BK1664882259 0 Posted March 1, 2012 The images stand alone, in my opinion. They may work in sequence, as the work plays off variations on specific themes. The minimal aspect draws a viewer in or it doesn't. Minimal can be tedious - but here there's craft & clarity of purpose. The work overall is great - & the colour work proves that the photography is no one trick pony. Link to comment
