This is a pleasing picture. In capturing the sky, the ground is always underexposed. You have had the foresight not to put too much of the ground in.

Personally I would have taken this from a lower angle such that the mountains in the background did not interfere with the silhouette.

I am not sure if the little tree to the left has any signiicance but again, that is my taste and is not meant to sound too critical.

I am guessing you are rightly pleased with this shot!

PS The ratings system doesn't really work for this photo. However, it is such a nice picture it would be a shame to rate it too low.

For me, it would indeed become unbalanced if the smaller (background) tree wasn't there. You must have uploaded this because you liked it enough yourself.

Well, I like it too...

Just another silhouette.. but wait, this one is beautiful. I just love pink clouds on a blue sky and with sun in the background. The second tree (on the left) makes this picture... rather than just concentrating the frame o nthe larger tree, the smaller tree adds scale.

A very classic image that demonstrates a lot a balance, even though it isn't symetrical. Sunsets can be hard to capture well, and this is a great example of how it *should* be done.

Thanks for the feed back everyone! Even yours Jason. Though, I'm not sure what you're trying to tell me. :)

For me the beauty is in the shape of the tree. The way the trees growth is swept, the way the branches kink. Centering the tree on the sunset helps to highlight it as the subject while giving it a stunning background. Given the size of the frame and the sweep of the tree the space to the left with the smaller tree helps to balance the composition. A lower angle was probably required to get the tree fully highlighted against the sky but would be limited by the foreground scrub which is distracting ho hum

I like this photo, its simple and composed with balance. The colours are good, and placement of the larger tree on the right, where the source of light is, is suitable to read from left to right in my opinion..

I like your composition. Cropping out the little tree and making it a square would produce a nice shot, but not as effective. Regards.
