charliecrusan 0 Posted February 10, 2012 I love black and white tones that you have chosen. It really projects the mood of the day. I also like how the image is framed by the vignette and the person holding an umbrella on the left side. Great shot! Link to comment

jclink 0 Posted February 13, 2012 I like this moody photograph - so full of mystery. However, I am discovering that the photo is about more than the lamppost, which is dominant and demanding, as the lines converge toward it. I did not notice the umbrella and figure on the left until I read about it in one of the comments. I think the figure on the left is important to the 'story' in the photo, so I would like to suggest that, with the help of Photoshop skills, you 'move the camera to the left' to include more of the umbrella and figure there, which would take the lamppost out of the middle and then, perhaps you could find some detail for the figure on the left to define it more.I am looking forward to looking at the rest of your portfolio. kahkityoong 0 Posted February 13, 2012 Jean, the image is designed around the symmetry that the two banks of the Seine provides with the lamp in the middle. I don't think the rule of thirds applies here to the lamp but to the walking figure. Link to comment
