chris_sargent 0 Posted June 15, 2003 Great location, the lighting could be better though, morning or evening. Link to comment

tom_menegatos 0 Posted June 20, 2003 I wanted to take a picture there but I remember reading something about the neighborhood not being great s most of the factories have been abandoned. Someone said it wasn't the type of place to bring expensive photo gear :) Nice shot thoug. I would have gone wider pulled back a little more, moved the falls to the right a little more to capture more of the building. To capture contrast between the falls and abandoned factories. Maybe I will head out there. Link to comment
rich_evans 0 Posted June 22, 2003 Tom - this has recently (last 7-8 years?) been designated a national historic restoration area and although there are numerous blighted sections, the old factories are being restored and many are now museums. The structure on the left is in the process of being re-built into a hydro-electric power generation station for the area. You can safely take your equipment there - I do on a regular basis and have never been bothered. --Rich Link to comment
peter_daalder 0 Posted June 27, 2003 You'll know how I ended up here today... This thumbnail begged to be enlarged, as this is a subject close to my heart. Almost all electricity in Tasmania is generated from hydro schemes. In fact, Launceston was the first city in the southern hemisphere to utilize hydro-electric power! Just my way of saying that I think it is great how you have included part of the old building on the left side of your image. It sets this apart from just another waterfall under a bridge photo...
