Guest Guest Posted February 2, 2012 Pascal,I love the idea of this shot. She has a wonderful expression and eye contact with the camera (viewer). It is really quite sexy in a very innocent way -- nicely captured. Her make-up is very well applied. The eyeliner under her eyes help to make her eyes stand out. The colors are very harmonious. There are a couple of things you could do that might make this portrait even better.First, I assume you included your name in the photograph because you wanted to make it look like a painting. Because of this I don't really find it too objectionable. You could crop a tad off the right side so that your subject was facing into the picture rather than out of it.Her left hand looks rather large and somewhat out of proportion. Some of the problem may be caused because it it closer to the camera than the rest of her -- foreshortened. The major problem is caused by having the back of her hand facing the camera. Avoid having the back (or palm) of the hand towards the camera. The edge (side) of the hand towards the camera is thinning, feminine and graceful. You have a slight split profile. It would look better not to crop the corner of her far eye with the edge of her nose. It is usually best to show all of both eyes or just one.The rather long horizontal specular highlight in her left eye is a bit distracting. It would look best to have similar catchlights in each eye. The catchlight in her right eye looks very good. Her pupils are quite dilated. If you use brighter modeling lights or have a brighter area to shoot her in, her eyes will not become so dilated.Nice shot,Mark Link to comment
