tmjacobs 0 Posted May 20, 2001 Any critique welcome, I also invite you to take a look at my other photo's and give a rating. If possible watch the large version, thanks! Link to comment
jarred_mccaffrey 0 Posted May 21, 2001 I really liked the photo at first glance (and still like it overall). However, when I looked at the castle, it felt fake, somehow. Almost like a high quality video game. Did you shift the colors or do anything odd. I bet the real photo looks better and has enough detail so that I would not get the fake feeling. Good job, Jarred Link to comment
tmjacobs 0 Posted May 21, 2001 Jarred, thanks for your remark, I haven't done any serious PC postprocessing though. It may give an odd feeling because it isn't the firework that lights the walls but low spotlights on the ground. I took 8 or so shots on a tripod with the selftimer. The lens stayed open for about 8 seconds, long enough to capture the fireworks. This one turned out to be the best in composition. Link to comment
elaine_roberts1 0 Posted August 13, 2001 I love the framing and composition on this. I imagine you exposed for the wall? Link to comment
fmueller 84 Posted September 8, 2001 A great shot. I agree that it looks more like a computer generated graphic than a photo, but the spot lights might explain this. I still like it! Link to comment
rjacksonphoto 0 Posted September 15, 2001 Just wonderful. I'm very impressed with your work. Exposure and composition right on. Link to comment
airman 0 Posted December 4, 2001 One reason it looks "fake" is that people believe this is a castle. No, this is Avila's wall, and is lighted, so you can see it from many miles out.Great picture...Why the fireworks? Any special holiday? Link to comment
judibrenstein 0 Posted January 2, 2002 I love this shot. Really beautiful. Can you tell me what the spots are above the wall on the far right side? I think if those weren't there (because they drew my eyes to them, I'd rate this a 10/10 - really gorgeous! Link to comment
atle.g 0 Posted February 17, 2002 A lot of beutiful photos in your folders, and this is one of the best. Link to comment
uccemebug 0 Posted April 1, 2002 Great pic! To answer the question about the spots: they distracted me at first, too, but I think they're from a smaller, lower firework explosion. Link to comment
