I think the 1/3 second was a perfect shutter speed:  some softness and sense of movement, yet some detail to the movement as well.  Nicely composed as well.

Love the composition: the foreground rock, the waves and the mountains at the back drop. As Stephen already pointed out, the shutter speed is spot on to capture the wave-front!

Your chossen POV was excellent for this composition. I love how my eye is taken from the rock in the foreground all the way to the mountain. Beautiful editing and the colours of the various elements are lovely.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. It took almost 70 shots to catch the waves this way and it was a very cold but fun first photography outing for 2012. Thanks again for taking the time.
