Excellent. The very black interior was a temporary concern but when i saw how effectively it illuminated the hanging objects and the person, I quickly changed my mind.    Keep up the very good work.  Thanks for commenting on one of my images. For the moment I have stopped uploading images to PN and reduced the visibility of most of images so it is less tedious for folks to view. I don't believe I have any '2' images so when i start getting those rates on my images, it is time to start weighing my options. I am just doing commenting for the moment.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for the feedback.  It's interesting that you picked up on the black areas.  When I was processing the photo, I spent some time considering whether to burn the interior of the shop out and after doing so, I was very pleased with the result.

I understand what you mean about the ratings system; it's always been a bit frustrating to say in the least.

I certainly don't think I've ever seen you place an image that's worth a 3 let alone a 2!

Cheers

Rob

A fine street image ,very well composed and edited ,every thing is in its proper place ,and every white pixel is giving a strength to the whole.

Rob,

This is an excellent image. Not only is the subject matter really intriguing but the composition is excellent and the tones you brought out in the image are very strong. I really appreciate a well developed black and white image and the interplay between the white of the man's scarf and the black of the shop quickly draws my eye directly to him. His expression mixes really well with the challenge of his circumstances - a great story in this image.

Sadly the rating system is oftentimes more about who you know than how good your images are. Keep at it - your talent is worth the effort.

Rob,  Pretty interesting and original documentary shot. well framed and composed.  Monochrome fits perfectly well with the subject. The metal "bric-a-brac" and the gentleman 's scarf gives the photo and smile and a bit of frosty punch! Regards,  Bachir
