You must think I've FORGOTTEN you, not intentionally!!! getting things back to normal after Christmas, trying to get a few images posted and rate a few in between my 'thankyou's, even just that takes more time than one would expect but grateful for anyone who visits and comments like you. I know your words are sincere.

Warm regards, and I'll visit soon, Gail

Gail, Billie Holiday usually wore a gardenia in her hair, this has a certain mournful quality that some of her later recordings had. I think it's the color palette, the rain-like effect and just enough of the light coming through to show the fading beauty of the blossom.

This is a beautiful flower image, Gail. The gardenia as a flower symbolizing grace is presented perfectly here . The tone is lovely and the effect you've chosen enhances the beauty of this image.

Best regards!

Gail,

I really like this! This is the effect people attempt to achieve with 'sepia toning' but this is so much more, it truly looks aged, with an elegance from another time. A lovely work of art!

The toning and production in this one identified it as yours right away. I wonder, though, if you have tried simply aging the image with added noise, then scrolling the edges to give it that found in the attic look. On this particular image, I think the results will be interesting.

I think Billie Holliday was so beautiful. I remember watching a movie about her awhile back, many of her songs have been so popular and to me so haunting and beautiful when sung by  her.

I had forgotten about her wearing the Gardenia in her hair, thankyou for reminding me and for your very kind words of critique.

My sincere appreciation,

Gail

This is an incredibly beautiful image.  Low key with subtle highlights and great dof.  Your overall finished treatment is outstanding and adds to the final quality of the piece. Congratulations on a real work of art.  Thank you for your recent comments. It was good to hear from you again, rek.
