I don't think there is a single "right" way for this.  You've chosen more of an environmental portrait by showing (in clear detail -- large DOF) part of the man's surroundings.  Personally, I think you should commit to either a larger proportion of the surroundings and more of the man, or less of the man and maybe less of the surrounding.  Cutting the portrait off at the knees is not the best place to stop, IMO; either get more or get less.  My preference would have been to stop somewhere along the chest to get more detail of the face.  I don't know if I would have included the arch or instead some of the brick behind; I tend toward the brick, thereby avoiding the bright sky.

Much appreciated for your inputs. I cropped the lower part a bit, could have added there. The percentage of the subject within the background is not conforming to the requisites according to you, and I have to agree to it. Thanks again for the ideas.

Rajnish, I'm not basing my comment on requisites as much as I'm thinking about what I personally would like to be able to see, and the main thing there is more of the man.  He has an interesting face, the the bright red of his turban also catches my attention.  I'd like to be able to see those better, and I'm also thinking that a background of bricks might be better than a background of bright white sky.  Cropping may or may not affect part of that; I think a different position of the camera the next time you make a photograph like this might be a better solution.  However, that's just my opinion, and I'm just one person, so I offer my comment just as food for thought.
