mike l 0 Posted June 14, 2003 I'm not sure about the person in this shot, I mean is it better with or without? Link to comment
tony_gilbert 0 Posted June 14, 2003 I think the person in the frame gives a very important sense of scale, while also lending a sense of lonliness, reflection and tranquility. I would leave it as is. Link to comment
frank_vigil 0 Posted June 14, 2003 This is a lovely shot, with a lot going for it. I like the pier taking my eye from the front to the back and even the interesting details on the pier. The sky is beautiful and contrasts perfectly with the pier. My only concern is the figure in the photo. I think it may have worked better if they were either A. closer or, B. further to the left. The light striking them appears to be interesting, but they are so small in the photo, one cannot appreciate it. Nice job! Link to comment

twmeyer 0 Posted July 3, 2003 It's excellent. The figure gives intellectual interest, and the restrained and specific palette creates an emotional context into which the viewer can project their own mental condition (see the above comment about various suggested states of mind). The composition is also well balanced in the distribution and quanities of contrasting colors that each carry specific visual weight. Also, the wide angle view defines a huge physical dimension that counterpoints the tiny figure. Right place, right time, right skill set... t Link to comment
