This image is meant to fit into a design layout that will include

accompanying text. So, its role is as part of a larger whole, rather than

as a stand-alone image for its own sake. The challenge was preserving

its almost sooty-looking black surface while emphasizing its rounded

shape and interesting textures - all while keeping it subdued enough to

get along with other design elements when its put to use. Thanks for

your feedback. Hope you're having some tea while you browse.

Yes Matt Laur, really amazing texture and very fine B&W tones.

By the way, Iraqis people are a very fond of drinking tea but I haven’t see such antique teapot before. Best regards

Nice lighting and good tonal range. It looks like you used a net finger on the handle to control the highlight... ; )

Nice set-up Matt. I like the little bounce to return some of that sweetness from the beauty dish.

Great image Matt, I really like it.

It is nice that you showed your set-up. A big help for a beginner like myself to see how some of these images are created.

Thank you for sharing

Regards

Gareth.

More than being a very good picture, I really like the explanation you gave.  This is one of the reasons why I like this site.

I too thankyou for including your 'lighting set-up). I have not progressed this far with my Photography but I do know that I am not fond of my onboard flash at all. My Father is a Professional Photographer and his quite a set-up. But he does not leave it up all the time. I had hoped that he would use a room in our home, and I'd be able to sneak downstairs and practice. Perhaps one day. My brother also is quite proficient in Photography and has used Dad's equipment quite often.  Your lighting in this composition seems perfect for the application. You succeeded in highlighting the 'sooty' appearance without making it too obvious. Very nice capture!
