PeterKrenek 26 Posted January 2, 2012 A very calm late afternoon of the last day of the year at the riverside. Your opinions and suggestions for improvement are welcomed. Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted January 4, 2012 Peter, it occurs to me that you could crop the sky and end up with three layers for a stronger image. I don't think that the sky is really adding any value. Link to comment
PeterKrenek 26 Posted January 5, 2012 Thank you, Jeff. You are right about the crop, I attach the modified version. The sky was pretty bland that day, but there was nice warm light on the trees, so I decided to give it a try and test the Big Stopper filter. Most of the light died out by the end of the long exposure, however. Minutes before, the trees were bathing in the last rays of sunset light. Some years ago I took a few similar shots on film, with a more interesting sky (see my Water folder). Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted January 5, 2012 That's a definite improvement. I had thought of cropping even harder to eliminate the wispier bits of the trees but both work. The sky in the other shots is much more interesting. Link to comment
