johnlund 0 Posted June 10, 2003 The floor and dark background work well to create a stage atmosphere, but I wish there was something to create a sense of scale. (The viewer might take cues from the floorboards, but IMHO that's not strong enough.) The first thing that comes to mind would be a hand reaching for the piano keys. Without a sense of scale it just looks like a strange gold/glassy piano in a remarkably stark setting. Link to comment
eric_bruder 0 Posted June 11, 2003 I think the lack of a formal frame of refernce is what adds charm tothis photo. The granduosity of the photo with the stage-like setting is very well done, and people will know how small it really is by looking at the floor boards and even the keys of the piano...we know it isn't a real piano by the keys. amills 0 Posted July 12, 2003 I like the fade to black. A suggestion for the scale: you could set it on an actual stage and have some seats from the audience show in the picture, a little out of focus. -adam Link to comment
