Brendan : this image, comments and ratings is typical of some of the problems with this very popular Photo.net facility of rating an image. You have two wonderful comments and an average image rating of 5  and chances are that most of the ratings are between a 4 through a six. You are sitting here and may be wondering why it did not do better. I don't know all of the answers in this world of art/Photography but if there were aspects that could be improved, one mentioned it and then openly rated it low, it will most likely be detrimental to the messenger if they are looking for ratings on their images. 

If I was rating this image which I am not, I would tag it a six and not a seven because of a basic photographic issue.

Most of my images are put up to the critique forum in the hope of getting feedback. In the last year, I infrequently submit for rating but I do it because sometimes I get lots of nice words and i want to see how they match up to potential ratings. And the 'truth' probably lies somewhere between the great  comments and the ratings.  I cannot improve my photography without effective feedback.

PS you have some very expensive and very good equipment. perhaps one day I can afford a full frame sensor with very lens.
