jimmcnitt 0 Posted June 8, 2003 A fabulous character portrait of a folk musician. I love everything about this image -- the angle, composition, the old man's expression, even the puzzling background. Superb work. Link to comment
roberto4 0 Posted June 9, 2003 i like this portrait very much. the structure of the background is also good. I would like to get the person more out of the background, by blurring it a little bot or ...?Best robertO Link to comment

ivophoto 0 Posted June 14, 2003 Would this picture benifit to print on a paper with lesser grade? Or is it a scan issue? The picture is great, but the tonality can be better IMO. Link to comment
joe_ho 0 Posted June 21, 2003 The sunlight is too strong for this one. The subject is interesting. The background can be better. Link to comment
davidmalcolmson 0 Posted June 26, 2003 This is 1993 but could have been decades earlier, so timeless is the feel of the subject. The harsh lighting makes his features look so craggy you could almost believe he had been carved out of the rock behind him, an impression reinforced by his stillness. The lighting is hard and the depth of field could ideally have been more shallow to separate the figure from the background. This one of those shots that throws more light on a culture than on the person in front of the camera -more documentary, less work of art.
