mike_palermiti 3 Posted December 22, 2011 Hi Ramesh,You did a good job capturing the deep red color often seen with a total lunar eclipse. In Florida, the moon had already set in the West prior to the lunar eclipse beginning.I did notice a small amount of star trailing. This is due to the Earth's rotation. Since there are no Details with this image, like the the focal length, f-stop , ISO and exposure , I can only speculate.I can say that as a good rule, a 70mm lens shows trails in exposures 4 sec-5 sec, while a 300mm lens is limited to 0.75-1 second. While the moon is also moving, the amount of smear is not as noticeable due to its small size that limits the details anyway. The use of higher ISO and a wide open aperture setting are the general recommendations that I can furnish to you , not knowing the Details of this image capture. As a smaller display, it certainly is a nice looking shot.Best Regards, Mike Link to comment
