Leave it as it is. Attention is drawn to the singers no matter how many of those seagulls you clone away.

... would be "The Pelican Briefing", as they seem very eager (and able) to shout out some very necessary information. (hope you can endure my rather dry sense of humor)

A great picture in any case !!!

Superb shot! I wouldn't clone anything. The gull in the front is an integral part of the "audience". Great composition.

Been thinking some more. I love the photograph "as is", however, I do believe if you

plan to market it for commercial purposes you can remove the birds behind the three

that are center stage. I'm happy to have seen the unedited version first, knowing that

you captured this magnificent pose.

I wonder why it could be necessary to clone out the seagull (one or several) ? They are the audience! The photo is at the same time very funy and astonishing.

I'm sitting in my office cube trying not to laugh hysterically.

I suppose if you wanted, you could clone out the fourth pelican, but it doesn't really affect the picture for me. The seagulls should ALL stay. They're the chorus for these tenors. :)

My answer is "No"! If you removed the gull in front the image would not look as interesting to me -- it would leave a hole in the foreground, whereas now it's a circular beauty.

Nice shot, and an excellent capture! I do find the blue a bit artificial looking to me, just too cyan and saturated looking IMO. This image also is a good example of that digital look. Almost too edgy and an almost over-sharpened appearance. Perhaps the JPEG-ization this site is infamous for comes into play but film image files here do not seem prone to this kind of "digi-look". Some like it, I do not necessarily dislike it, but still find film renditions more pleasing for this exact reason.

This does not take away from your skill in getting this shot though. Congrats on POW.

As for cloning out the seagull over the foot? Naw, it does not really take away from the image though I could see why it might be a little better without. Does the D60 have fast enough rapid-fire to have gotten a few more frames, maybe one without this issue?

Nice capture! Actually, it's not a matter of having too much gulls in the foreground and overall composition, but rather too little. They complete a wonderful scene and, if somehow the entirety of all the gull's bodies and feet could have been included in the frame, then all the very much better.

You can clone out whatever you want, but the first gull you are pointing, is exactly the one that drives the eyes from the bottom to the top, where the pellican in the middle is. There's a kind of strong dialog between them!

I only wonder how the photographer has arranged to be so near to these animals, with such a short focal lens... They usually fly away, as far you're nearer to 10 meters. Have you dressed up like another pellican? :-)

Congrats for the selection, a good one for the home page of p.net and for the exposition of the rest of your shots.

Congratulations on POW - very well deserved!

As for the cloning, I have to agree with Doug. I'd rather remove the other pelican in the background.

This arrogant fop doesn't even pay attention to the singers ;-))

But great shot anyway, also unmodified.

I almost fell out of my chair when I saw this, and still have a hard time believing this isn't a frame from a Disney animation instead of a photograph. This is partly due to the heavy Cyan sky that gives it a graphical look as opposed to photographic. But, no matter, I love the way the gulls all have their heads raised as if being conducted by the Pelican's. Talk about "significant moments", great fun photograph. I want one on my lunch box!!
