a glorious bird.  the background has so much weird detail in it, though.  i wonder if you could mask it off before increasing contrast or sharpening or whatever it was that brought out the extraneous detail.  best, j

It may look wierd but I could send you the original and it is much worse, at least I think. It is very busy, pronounced and I can just imagine the comments I would have received if I'd left it the way it was. If I have time I will send. Many thanks for stopping by.

Kindest regards, Gail

Not really Graham...but if you'd like to think I'm a 'sneaky young lady' go right ahead, no one has called me a 'young lady' for quite a bit so 'sneaky' will do!!!!

This image was such a quandry from the get go, finally got some advice from Uncle Mike, and  his suggestions gave me some ideas. The biggest problem was because of the mesh there were green hues in the plummage, the background was horribly vivid and very busy. I'd so wanted to have a decent image from our vacation. This end result was about the best I could arrive at. The eye was not too affected by the mesh for frome reason in the original.

Glad you liked it Grayham. Kindest regards, Gail

I am so sorry I did not see your comment sooner, such a lovely compliment. Thankyou for this encouragement as I do not often take captures of birds. One day I hope to get a better lens for birds in the distance, that is usually where I see them and my 55-250mm doesn't quite do the job most times.

Sincere thanks, Gail
