Profile In Romantic Ambiance

Hello Pierre, Your work always gets the imagination working. I do like this all though I'm not totally sure why. Perhaps the colors, perhaps the intended notions, however one thing I am sure of is I wish you a very Happy Holiday. Take care.

Ok, it is my turn! I looked at the picture and your changes for a few times. I like the original one the best. Romantic ambiance is that nostalgia we have for old buildings, rusted cars, grandma's trunks, etc, Beautiful warm light adds to it. For a romantic soul it is more then enough. As for the originality of your picture. Yes, you can afford to do that (verses me, for example) - you are an artist. breaking the rules is your very stong weapon. There's no teacher who would teach a student to take a picture your way. It comes from you, it makes you YOU. (Now I am going to make you cry) - you are Shagall of photography! Some might like your pictures, some might not, some might find inspiration, some don't understand - and it is ok. But for me (and not only for me) you open my eyes and widen my horizon and encourage me to experiment! Don't ever get tired of it! Warm regards.Tamara

I find quite pleasing aesthetically this juxtaposition of the old and the young ,having their paths crossed. At least this is the impression given the edifice immobility. The converged verticals version wins my vote hands down! The controversy created by the title you chose is well justified but only if one fails to see the photo as a visual poem that is elevated to any ether the creator wants. No one can see your "poem" with your eyes,Pierre , and this provoked an interesting dialectic I especially liked. Best regards, Chris

It took me a few visits for me to like this. At first I did not. Now, it feels fresh and creative.

Romance is every where in crumbling Cuba...yesterday 60  Minutes presented a segment about the Living under water Corals near Cuba and the Jornalist began by saying the Crumbling Havana...the lad even has a Cuban flair to him...He! Great image.  Warm regards.

I find old buildings to be very 'romantic' Pierre. There is just something about the ambiance, my imagination of times gone by, if those walls could talk, wondering what romances could have bloomed within those walls. The history makes up so much of the story, and when our imaginations are let to waunder, it gives the photo even yet another dimension.

Wonderful painterly like effects on the buiding, and always nice to see a 'dreamer' actually - 'DREAM' -

A very nice profile with good colors.  Wishing you a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Pierre - when I first looked at this shot I had to open my mind and search for the concept your were presenting. There seemed to be several that you may have been going for. For instance a young man reflecting on sad memories this place brings or sadness from watching his home decay - and many others. Then I saw the caption and connected with the idea the young man is reflecting on a romantic thought  - maybe a past love he knew lived here, or warms feelings from having lived here himself. Who knows what others are thinking - but it is fun imaging what that may be.

The one technical thing I notice is that the building is leaning back into the shot but the young man is not - something is incongruent - but who cares.
