This is a portrait of a dear friend of mine. The evening was winding down

when I captured this shot. Thanks for looking and please comment.

This is a very nice portrait in terms of the lighting, pose, and color.  However, in my opinion, it suffers from the extreme crop.  Not being able to see the top of your friend's head and/or the remainder of his chin hinders this work from being a very nice portrait.  I can not give it a rating higher than a 4 because of the crop.  It has the unrealized potential of a 5.

Personally, I don't miss the areas that were cropped.  The eyes communicate enough, and the wrinkles at the corner of his eye and into the forehead make for such a warm and genuine expression that I can't help but like the portrait -- I feel I'm looking at a real, unaffected person.
