snigam 0 Posted December 4, 2011 Fall trees in orange color street light. This was shot very late in evening to get deep contrast between blue sky and yellow trees. I can hardly get deep blue sky in day time with digital camera. Thanks for your comments or rating. Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 307 Posted December 4, 2011 Great strong colors! What do you mean by "critique harsh rating" Sandeep?! I once made a series of photos, criticizing of the three (unjustified) ratings which were on the top photos first page and one day I saw that folder deleted completely!Best regards my friend!PDE Link to comment
snigam 0 Posted December 4, 2011 Hello Pierre, has been a long time since your last visit. I was missing your encouraging comments. The critique harsh rating in title is for those folks who just give an image 2 or below rating without telling the photographer what is wrong. We hardly ever used to get 2 ratings before this fall but now it has become so common. I really believe the low ratings should be accompanied by comments so that if photographer wants, he can put in changes in few minutes and release next version. It is much better than scratching your head for weeks thinking what went wrong! Some of my recent interesting images got rating of 7,6,5,4,3,2. I may as well toss a coin to decide if it is good image or not :)Best wishes for coming holiday season... Sandeep Link to comment
HermanRoes 6 Posted December 4, 2011 Only two colors can make a wonderful image. The empty blue sky gives a great frame for this autumn photo. You have made an attractive image that holds the attention. For me '6' Thank you for sharing and kind regards,Herman Link to comment
mike_palermiti 3 Posted December 4, 2011 Hi Sandeep,A nice looking scene. However, without any Details provided (lens setting, camera setting) , the technical merits can not be rated. I often rate 50% on the image and 50 % on the technical merits for those requesting a rating.Best Regards, Mike Link to comment
snigam 0 Posted December 4, 2011 Hi Mike, I am trying out some images through GIMP. My version of photoshop is older. Sometimes neat image also get called to do its magic. Exif seems to gets lost in these transitions. Most of my older images have full info, some newer ones don't have it. Maybe some setting in GIMP is required. Thanks for your comments.Best wishes...
