mike_mc_ardle1 0 Posted June 7, 2003 This one also would be better with the bottom cropped a bit. Nice image though. Its nice to see the use of filters too. Link to comment
bridget_hunt 0 Posted June 11, 2003 This is my favourite in this folder, it is excellent. It looks like something I would love to paint, the water is like glass. Love it ! Link to comment
erin_____grasshopper__rice 0 Posted June 29, 2003 Odd- I know I commented on this last night. Confirmed it and everything...weird. Anyway- I really like this-it's enhanting and makes me want hop on the first plane across the pond. Your lighting is perfect- and the composition really couldn't be better. The only thing i can think of would be to crop out all the black in the lower and upper portions of the water and sky. A nice frame in addition to the crop would really bring out your subject. Nice Job. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 11, 2003 Thinking about Jason's comment made me remember some good advice I got out of Practical Photography magazine. When using Velvia, one gentleman suggested shooting it ISO 32 but processing it as normal. I don't shoot much of it these days, but I have found that to be sound advice. I've found that extra 1/2 stop of exposure still gets the colors popping but also adds a nice bit of extra light to the image. That aside, I like the image as a whole. The idea of Jason's crop isn't a bad one, as it gets rid of some superfluous dark space on the top and bottom. Lovely landscape! Must get to some of these places on my next pilgrimage to Blighty. sean_driver 0 Posted July 12, 2003 I agree Jason your crop is better it gives it more punch. I have always found I tend to under expose with Velvia in these shots usually hand held and trying to squeeze every inch of DOF not a good combination. Maybe I will try doing as you suggested about the Iso Andy and maybe take a tripod more often too Link to comment
