syuly 0 Posted June 5, 2003 1872 X 1232 pixels -- Wayne Melia Wonderful Wonderful, emotion filled picture. I love the constrast of the little girl and pink petals with the showy cowgirl tatoo. Could use a size, redection (as the other commentor semi-notes). -- Nem W Schlecht Link to comment
dgl 0 Posted June 5, 2003 PoW material. petals add interest on the left edge, diagonal concrete line adds tension and context, compelling expression placed dead center, the tattoo and the crop of the man. wow. Link to comment
kunihiko 0 Posted June 10, 2003 Good capture. The left part of the image works well. I wish the composition bit left lowered. Link to comment
jim_herriott 0 Posted June 11, 2003 Just my opinion, but I might crop the left side of the photo out. But perhaps it adds atmosphere? Link to comment
syuly 0 Posted June 11, 2003 Jim it's funny that you said that because that is kinda what I thought, but by reading the postings it seems like people like the left side so Im confused Link to comment
foleydog 0 Posted June 12, 2003 You captured a good moment, but the adult is distracting. I would have left them in. Link to comment
kunihiko 0 Posted June 14, 2003 Shane, when I said I liked the left side, I should have written the reason. The girl is the main subject of course. The right part, the guy with a tatto and herself show her position which people can see. The left side, pink petals in the dark shows something in her mind which people cannot see but could feel thourgh this picture. Why left lowered ? cause, the guy's neck is not necessary and I wish I could see her right hand bit more.Just the white shirt at the right side and dark ground at the left side would be able to tell the story. It's just what I thought. thomas_moraitis 0 Posted June 14, 2003 No particular comment, it just works with me. Forcing myself to make a remark, I would crop a little from the top (until the button), but, again, does it matter? Link to comment
josh a. 0 Posted June 14, 2003 I like it allot, but I wonder what it would have looked like had you cropped out a little more of her dad, and some of the bushes. There by focusing in on her and the incredible expression. I like it Link to comment
syuly 0 Posted June 14, 2003 what does everyone here think Im curious, I really dont know ? Link to comment
syuly 0 Posted June 28, 2003 I just took another picture similar with the girl much older now Link to comment
joe_garrick 0 Posted June 29, 2003 I like Jason's crop, but I think I would have left a little more of the concrete steps in there. Some for me that adds a little extra touch of starkness. Link to comment
paul_harris5 0 Posted December 10, 2003 Hi Shane, The relationship between the look of sadness and trouble in the girls eye and the tatoo, which suggests a hard father, is the key for me. The larger picture where you see the subject is an older lovely gent takes away from the drama of the contrast ....I think. Very nice Ive looked through a few today and this is my favourite. Thanks and please feel free to critique my photos (ive been going for 9 months so would appreciate any feedback) Cheers! :) Paul Link to comment
