Hopeman, Moray, ScotlandStumbling down to Hopeman's beach has become a most enjoyable summer pastime especially when it appears a good sunset is likely. At the far end of the beach is this wonderful set of cleaved rocks mixed with soft and eroded sandstone gullies. The fingers of sandstone obligingly align themselves with the setting sun and if the tides are right then the fissures between them fill with water and reflect the sky above. Everything came together beautifully on this occasion. Pentax 67II, 55-100 zoom, 0.45 ND grad to top of rock shelf + 0.45ND grad (handheld) to rock fingers, + 4 stop ND, f/22 at 6 seconds. Velvia 50.

Superb shot with great detail in the foreground and vibrant colours. The sky is maybe a little hot in parts, but I love it.
