Just starting out and wanted feedback on the images I have posted so

far. I feel that the range of tones could be improved as I am still

using my cameras 'average' rather than working it out for myself

The clever use of space in the composition gives the audience somewhere to share in the subjects contemplation. The unfortunate and distracting dark area on the extreme right edge could do with cropping - but the position of the subject would make this impossible. Still a great picture though...

"Clay face?" With a 2/2 rating? That's a bit rude, don't you think? It's no different than calling someone with bad acne "pizza face" or calling someone overweight "pie face." Do you think you're perfect enough to go around making comments like that about other people?

 

I like the space above her head in the composition. The shadowing is also very good. I like the way she's looking down, because it shields her emotion and changes how someone might think she's actually thinking. The overall emotion to me reminds me of serenity. She seems at peace, remembering something that touched her.

 

My only suggestion would be to put a bit more space on the right of the image, ever so slightly more. Otherwise, I like it.

I don't bother with those kind of people. Especially as they seem to be making the same comments across the whole site, without putting any of their own photos up there.

 

I wanted to use the space above her head to make her seem small. I felt that it made the photo stonger with the space in there. I made sure that the eyes were averted and closed as I wanted to evoke a sense of loss in the viewer.
