katie_clarke1 0 Posted November 18, 2011 I think your onto something Jeff but you have two separate and different areas of interest. One being a silhouette of distinct shape and the other being the more interesting part which includes the figures to the far right. They are shrouded in a blurry dreamy texture reminiscent of some great photographers. That for me is a particular area of interest. K.C. Link to comment
richard_john_edwards 0 Posted November 19, 2011 Jeff while I concur with what Katie says about the 2points of interest, I feel they merge into a single story, to me the coming from the light into the dreamy like state is fantastic. This is such a well executed image and certainly deserves a lot more attention. To me this is an excellent image and I will rate it accordingly. Cheers Richard. Link to comment
richard_john_edwards 0 Posted November 19, 2011 Just wanted to add, what makes this image so strong for me, it is about shape motion and tonal value, all of these design elements work very well here complimenting each other. Link to comment
katie_clarke1 0 Posted November 19, 2011 Richard and Jeff, take a look at the work of Bill Jacobson who uses light, shadow and figures often silhouetted. There are several other contemporary photographers that use this dreamy ghostlike quality. Even Joyce Tenneson has captured this look but in a different way with her book on flowers. K.C. AlanKlein 2,917 Posted November 20, 2011 Jeff: I"ve been there in NYC Central Park but didn't notice any zombies when I went through - fortunately. How did you create the blur effecta? Nice shot. Alan. Link to comment
jeffwatts 0 Posted November 20, 2011 Thanks everyone for the great comments. Alan, the blur effect was accomplished using Picasa's soft focus effect. The lighting of the shot creates the ethereal effect for this passage way by the Bathesda fountain in Central Park. This venue makes it easy to get a good shot. Jeff Link to comment
