laura_maish 0 Posted June 14, 2001 This geisha was standing in front of the Kabuki Theatre - Minamiza - in Kyoto during the year-end Kabuki festival last December. It is not a posed shot. I removed distracting people from the background digitally. What do you think? Link to comment
glenn_smith 0 Posted June 14, 2001 Well done indeed! I like the expression and color very much. To nitpick, (since it's easy to nitpick what we really like :) Instead of a gradient background like that, try just blurring the original background. You've taken the time to select the main figure out of the background in order to help her stand out. Instead of dropping in an artificial background, run a phat gaussian blur on the original background. This will let the figure stand out in a more natural way, as if you'd used a long telephoto to pull the subject out. You might also play with image curves just a tad to bring her facial color closer to white, rather than the greyish tinge it has. Again, i'm nitpicking because I like it. Good job. Link to comment
billangel 9,671 Posted June 3, 2003 Very attractive, elegant composition. In my opinion, the background is quite appropriate. Link to comment
