laura2 0 Posted June 3, 2003 This was a rare sight for me today. It was a rainbow and a ferris wheel, and I noticed how cool it looked because it formed arcs. I think nature did a better job though. :) Please give your comments and whatnot about what you think of this image. Thank you! Link to comment
paul_ensom 0 Posted June 4, 2003 Nature ALWAYS does a better job... good photo, though. The contrast between the geometric and natural arcs is great. They're similar and dissimilar at the same time. Great work! Link to comment
sarah marie jones 0 Posted June 5, 2003 I'm impressed by your eye here. Both in seeing and capturing the shot and then in the cropping. Outstanding work, first rate. Best Regards, Sarah Link to comment
amateur 0 Posted June 5, 2003 Hey Laura! The composition and the colors are perfect. Two arcs, matching colors... I just think it would be better if the sky was clear, but of course that has nothing to do with your capabilities as a photographer. Really enjoyed your whole portfolio... Link to comment
intransit 0 Posted June 5, 2003 I apply the title for this comment as 'LUCK', for being there... and they also say there is a pot of gold... were you not fortunate... but fear there are too few pixels in this submission... Link to comment
artofheadshots 0 Posted June 6, 2003 I am going to repeat what I truly like about you as a photographer. You seem to come out with original and different work. Its nice to see that. Link to comment
marina_bisi 0 Posted June 6, 2003 Very nice! The composition adds more originality to the scene, very well done! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted June 8, 2003 you sure do walk around a lot =) the beach, the park, the city, a carnival or fairground? =) I like the two arcs - I like how you framed, and only included part of each rainbow Link to comment
wenger 0 Posted June 13, 2003 Laura - I return after perusing your folders. I am impressed by your very fresh talented work. Many of your subjects have a "new spin" feel to them which is very refreshing. With that said, I don't find this to be one of your best works. While yes, there is an interesting contrast/similarity between the natural/manmade arcs, I am left somewhat flat and uninspired by this one. Which is to say that I was quite inspired by the rest of your portfolio. Thanks for that. - Tom PS. Maybe if you'd have treked over to the right and gotten the two arcs that bend in the same direction? I dunno. Link to comment
laura2 0 Posted June 13, 2003 I agree with you. I was disappointed with my lack of mobility in taking this shot. There were a lot of other carnival rides and stuff in the way, not to mention buildings. It made it kind of difficult to photograph this image. I should have just run over to the beach and tried from there. I think I was more awestruck with finally seeing a rainbow than anything. :) Thanks for your nice comments! Link to comment
briany 0 Posted June 14, 2003 Personally, I like the composition, and I think that the colors are interesting in the way the red and green dominate both halves, with the blues more subtly blending into the background. It doesn't look as sharp as it could be, and there's quite a lot of noise in the sky. Perhaps you wanted some texture, but I think it's a bit coarse. Link to comment
