buck_gremel 0 Posted June 2, 2003 Great colors, but I'm not crazy about the flare on the sun. Link to comment

amateur 0 Posted June 2, 2003 Hey Cliff, I am also still learning, but here is my input, good or bad. With the sun positioned in the center and the shore on the right, the left side of the photo seems too empty to me. But other than that I think is a very nice picture. Regards! Link to comment
jame_cohn 0 Posted June 2, 2003 This is wonderful not only are the colors vivid but the detail is there.. two things -- I wish that that bird wings were up.. (It would seem more up lifting) second.. that tree in the sun seems in the way.. Although I like this angle.. I think if you had zoomed in and angled enough for the rock to be in the left corner it would have lead the eye in more. I do think this is a wonderful shot and the water is magical. Link to comment
vincetylor 0 Posted June 2, 2003 I too think this is your best one yet. The smoothe water and colorful sky make a nice combination. The sun centered in the middle works for me with this one. I would only suggest an ND graduated filter for the sole purpose of adding a bit more density in the lower half. Once you see what it can do, you will always want to use them. Trust me on that one. If it had a bit more lighting on the bottom, this would indeed recieve 7. Still, even without one, it is still very dramatic and a very good capture. Is nice to see your continued progress and improvement! Link to comment
tim_copenhaver 0 Posted June 3, 2003 Great colours. I love the lines to the sun that the shore line creates. Link to comment
nickolay_lavrik 0 Posted June 4, 2003 Beautiful colors with very good detail in shadows. The sun may seem to be a little bit too "hot" at a first glance. But on the other hand, the lights look very natural and the gradation of tones is excellent. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted June 4, 2003 very beautiful photo. Maybe with the sun not exactly in the center and the horizon not exactly dividing in two the foto, it could have a stronger impact. The wonderful colours give a special strenght. Bravo Link to comment
uwestiens 0 Posted June 4, 2003 There are many sunset shots around, but this one is really special. Well done. Link to comment
cliff_krauter 0 Posted June 4, 2003 This entire past weekend all we had was rain. At about 7:30 the clouds began to break so I decided to run over to the bay and enjoy the scene. The cloud formations which can be seen after stormy weather are pretty wild. So Let me know what you think. Comments and Ratings are very much appreciated as I continue to learn. Link to comment
richard van hoesel 0 Posted June 7, 2003 Hi Cliff, this is a great sky and I certainly like the way the light falls in the centre part of the image. However, both this and your Adriondack Sunset would imo have very much benefited from a gradual neutral density filter to hold back the sky and bring up the foreground details. A great start considering the short time you've been shooting though; keep it up. (btw you asked me about my pentax - no it's not an "advanced" camera, the design is about 30 years old).
