hanthorne4 0 Posted November 6, 2011 A few words about the location..... This beautiful avenue of beech trees was planted by the Stuart family in the eighteenth century. It was intended as a compelling landscape feature to impress visitors as they approached the entrance to their Georgian mansion, Gracehill House. Two centuries later, the trees remain a magnificent sight and have become one of the most photographed natural phenomena in Northern Ireland. This was my first time at this location and was quite pleased with the result and am wondering if my faith in the photo is justified?? Thanks in advance, Leslie Link to comment

daveinwilton 1 Posted November 7, 2011 Leslie - the form of the trees over the road is grand, but even they pale against the beauty of the light. You have caught this image in grand timing with these elegant golden tones. It is truly an image to be proud of. Seriously brilliant work. Best regards...-Dave Link to comment

stp 6 Posted November 8, 2011 Yes, your faith in the photo is justified. It's a wonderful scene, and you have low angle lighting that is providing warm light to many of the trunks and branches while others remain shaded, thereby providing a nice contrast. The Stuart family succeeded as well; you and the Stuarts are a good combination. Link to comment
knweinhold 0 Posted November 11, 2011 This has an almost surreal appearance to it. Great lighting and composition. Your expectations were not out of order. Link to comment
