Thank you Steve and Giangiorgio. My thanks to the pigeon too who gave its life so that I might have this capture.  What I missed was that it was moving the pigeon around to make it an aerodynamic load before flying away with it.

Good moment catch Charles! Cooper Hawk is a hard bird to catch and to catch one with a kill next to it is very good.

Great shot. I was awakened by my wife yelling "get up and grab your camera,"And was fortunate enough to get a Flying shot of a Cooper's Hawk, with a Headless Pidgeon. Timing is everything.

Thanks Tm and Anthony.  I was pretty excited to see this scene in the park's parking lot when I first drove up.  I used the car as a blind to get closer, but it didn't like the shutter click at all.  So the hawk started stomping and bouncing its bird into position for a neat little wing folded package ready for take off!  Really fun.
