So, you have been in Japan again. I wonder how you found it? I very much like the composition and black and white rendition of this. Recently I found some of these shimekazari at Hakone Shrine that were made of plastic! Rather disappointing.

In ancient Japan, the month of October was called "The Month without Gods", because all the gods over Japan left their own shrines and gathered at Izumo Taisha in Shimane prefecture.   Only Shimane people called October "The Month of Gods".
