MArk:  I really admire your photos a lot. but I think this one is a bit too saturated, too orangy and the bark is too blue.  What does it look like toned down a bit?  Thanks for posting.  Alan.

Great composition:  I really like your choice for the lower edge, the placement of a large snag (presumably) in the lower left corner, and a diagonal line in the upper portion with more variety behind it.  The aspect ratio also works well.  And the title is really inspired!

I don't know about the saturation levels, as I've never really witnessed a deciduous forest with chlorophyll in full retreat.  I agree with Alan that you should take a look at the bark of the trees -- it seems too blue to me as well, and it might just be a color balance issue (that's my own personal indicator in my own photos; bark makes a great barometer).  Great shot, definitely needs to be seen large.
