Good to have your views on this offering.  I was looking through some old family photos when I spotted this B&W of me and my grandfather.  Thought it went well with the more recent one of me and my first grandson.  Not really intended for critique, rather to show the contrasts, and similarities, of about 6 decades.  A family treasure!  Best, LM.

I must be blind as I didn't notice the camera hanging from your grandson's neck until just now!

An old Fuji P&S film camera which I loaded with 400 ISO film so he could join Grandpa in some fall shooting.  I tell him to shoot whatever catches his eye.  More fun that way.  He has his own electronic device with a built in camera now & isn't afraid to use it.  Wave of the future.  Thanks for your re-visit.  Best, LM.

This is such a treat! How wonderful for you to put these two together. Similar in background and subject matter but not the time, poses or relationship. I was just thinking today how wonderful the life cycle is - how we get to live on through our children and their children. I am very happy to have found this little gem today! Thank you for sharing. :)

Not looking for a technical comment\critique here.  After looking at the photo on the left I remembered a similar shot in an old family album.  Just trying to demonstrate the value of a tradition of recording family via photos.  In 1947 having a grandson of my own wasn't even on my radar.  Thanks for your comment and for pointing out the background similarities.  Hadn't thought about that until you mentioned it.  I see the lighting was similar too.  The huggy-feely was missing in the 1947 shot.  Guess it wasn't common in those days to express that feeling publicly though I'm guessing the emotion was there nonetheless.  Don't be a stranger.  Your visits are appreciated.  Best, LM.

The words have beeen said very clearly, but for me is the feelings it sends that really counts. I enjoy given an image like this a 7 because of the strong message of love it conveys! I have three Grands, Mike, Dan and Alexa and we all lived in Miami. The boys go out more with their father and I get jelous, Alexa is 8 and still gets all over me and insist in been carrie in my arm which I enjoy a lot. Mike and Dan are 13 and 11 and they are big boys now. Every time I see them I take images of them and they ignore me. I have given the boys the Rebel T3i for Christmas when they turn 11. Alexa has a point and shoot which she uses all the time. The other day my daghter told me Alexa get up and approched some performers and took some photos. When she came back to her sit my daghter told her to be careful, and she say my Granpa has told me most people loved to have their images taken. I loved it. Thank you for stoping by you had made my day with this set of wonderful images.

Send a little Miami weather up this way would you?  We're still freezing here in Central Ontario. (14F here this morning)  :-)  So happy this one resonates with you.  I posted it for that reason.  So that Grandfathers could relate to it.   Sounds like a good decision on your part, giving your grandchildren cameras.  You may have a budding street\candid portrait photographer in your family.  If most people love to have their photographs taken why I am I so nervous when attempting it?  Your granddaughter is braver than I. I love taking photos of my grandchildren, to a fault it seems.  My wife says " You don't have to take a photo every time they sneeze."   On the other hand I have some very satisfying images of them.  :-)   Best, LM.

Now this is a real treasure, sorry to have missed it when you first posted.  The gene pool didn't fail you, your grandson looks a lot like you in the original photo, well, without the tie ;-).... Mike

Yah, the tie!  Things are less formal today &, as I'm pleased to observe, a lot more touchy-feely.  Hmm, I just noticed, MY grandfather didn't need glasses.  Perhaps he didn't wear out his eyes taking thousands of photographs.  :-)  Best, LM.

I'm happy to hear that this offering resonates with you .  Makes the production and the posting of it all worth while.  If you are lucky enough to still be around in 40 years or so perhaps my grandson will add his version to this series.  Stay tuned!  :-)  Best, LM.
