adamgibbsphotography 0 Posted October 20, 2011 I have photographed this little conifer a number of times now and am always amazed at how no two visits are the same, the conditions are always different. It's quite amazing how this tree clings on to life without much to support it. Link to comment

otto_b 0 Posted October 21, 2011 A truly magical photo. I absolutely love it. It also awakens my curiosity - obviously you were captivated by the reflection in the water. What else is there around the edges of the photo. I see a few darker reflections at the top of the photo, so I assume it would not be possible to place the tree in the bottom third of the photo to increase the feeling of "small tree" fighting against "the larger forces of nature" ... ? adamgibbsphotography 0 Posted October 22, 2011 Hi Otto, Thanks for your question. Unfortunately this little tree is so hard to get a clean shot of. Surrounding the lake is thick forest and uninspiring shrubs. Shoot to high and you get the sky reflecting in the composition. Shoot to low and you include the background. From where I was standing I could only find two locations to get a clean shot and that is with a reasonably long lens. Just to many shrubs in the way. Here is another version with the trees behind if you're interested. http://www.adamgibbs.com/photo/floating-on-mist/?gallery=fresh-work Thanks again. Link to comment
divya 0 Posted October 23, 2011 Simply beautiful shot. I read your comments on how you isolated the tree from the surroundings to get the tree with mist. Great shot worthy of 7/7. Link to comment
