But what to do about it?  It's great that the wire on the left is actually in the appropriate orientation.  best, j

I thought this weird little shot worth posting.  I see shots like this as the antidote to taking the same pretty little picture over and over.  It's absolutely horrific with the glare and distortion and the magenta reflections.  So ugly that I like it and kept coming back to it.

Painted on the side of the house is something like "Jesus is the only fire escape."  I had a wide angle lens so I couldn't capture the scrawling as I'd like, but I thought that the streaks on the right looked a little bit rapturous.

But he is surely the only EXCAPE from the flaming pit of HEHHHLLLLL!  It's the schmutz on the windshield that really makes it.  best, j

For me this is all about sensation. The grimy view.... the off kilter, forward motion. it feels familiar.... as if I've been on this amusing ride before, sometime back in the mid 70's.

At this size, the message on the wall is lost, gobbled up by the rest of the scene. I think that section of the image had tremendous potential and would have made an entirely different but most likely fabulous photo. That  being said, I like the image you present us with here.

Very nicely done photo. It has great energy, from the skew to the flare to the green shading provided by the tint of the windshield. I love the color it gives to the sky. It has a contemporary feel and there's something luscious but not overly sweet about it. There was some saccharin in this scene, and you've taken it and twisted it around quite effectively. It's one I seem to like simply looking at. More gets revealed. I love the distortions as well, especially on the right side. The world really does seem round.

Finally... the weekend...

Tatjana:  Thanks so much.

Joke:  I say it every day.  It's my mantra.

Bob:  Tilt your head and act like you're on a bumpy road.  You'll get anxious quickly my friend.  Or dizzy.

Gunnar:  I will gladly accept the compliment, although I didn't find it to be amazing as much as quirky.

Linda:  How can a fellow get his bearings when the world leans to madly to the extreme right or extreme left?

Alberto:  The title channels political sentiment.

Gordon:  I'm always trawling for weird photos.  I find that the photos I think are most interesting are those taken with alternative methods.  Blur, toy cameras, pinholes, and so forth.  Usually in the quest to have everything pristine and digitized, these photos get overlooked in favor of their perfect alternatives.  Here, I liked the grime, the streaks, the angles, the weird-ass color, the magenta cast in the shadows.  It's ugly-cute like a bulldog puppy.  Since I wasn't driving, I didn't have the opportunity to double-back and take a picture of that pronouncement.

Fred:  I never know whether something going to work or not.  I rarely have a camera in hand these days, but when I do I hit a wall shooting shiny-pretty things and start shooting randomly (well, as random as my calculating mind can allow).  Here, I was tilting the camera through the tinted windshield to get overpasses and bridges as my friend and I were driving through Charleston.  I'm the kind of guy who likes a hint of chili pepper in my chocolate, so I'm glad this didn't seem cloyingly sweet.

I've been wandering lost in the dark woods trying to keep away from the wolves and the trolls but now find myself in a clearing so here I am again. This photo has a HDR feeling though I haven't checked whether you actually used that process or not. Usually HDR leaves me cold, flattening out the image as it does, but here the effect only adds to the sense of disorientation. This photo pretty accurately catches my state of mind over the past couple of weeks.

No HDR here.  I don't like the effect all that much because it seems too gimmicky and cartoonish, at least when I try it.  This was achieved with boosting the tonal contrast and playing around with the color a little, but that's it.  The gunk is grime from the windshield.

I haven't been able to bring myself to pick up a camera or play around with PS lately.  Uninspired is an understatement.

Sometimes after the wolves pick you clean, your dry bones begin to dance again.

Hope your muse returns soon.
