I don't find the backboard distracting, that's the best think about street photography, it's not perfect, that's what makes it soooo cool.  Very creative photo.

I agree with Mike. But I think the water and the shape of the fountain is so interesting. I am glad you used black and white. I don't think this would look as good in color.
