Americana 1: The Protector

That is pretty much the point Helena. The entire idea of "Americana", at least for me, is an example of mythic metaphor - representations of an ideal rather than the real: unending and easily obtainable prosperity, unquestioned moral codes, adherance to traditional gender roles, etc.

I haven't done much "artsy-fartsy" stuff, but this is the first shot of, and inspiration for, what I hope to make an ongoing project exploring the tension that I believe is inherent in the American myth.
