Just got the coolpix and playing about. seems quite good at macro stuff. This was handheld in evening sunlight. Nice bokh, too, IMO.

I've just noticed the appearance of the "unmanipulated" checkbox. I have to say, despite being no great fan of "manufactured" photos, that the associated explanation strikes me as pompous and ridiculous. I believe this image "meets the criteria" laid down, but I'm not going to label it "unmanipulated". The image I saw and sought to capture was the one presented here. "Dodging and burning are allowed", we are told. I'm so grateful. The tone of the explanatory page gives the lie to the disclaimer of prejudice, and I don't want to risk the opprobrium associated with a "false claim" of non-manipulation. (Mebbe I'm just in a pissy mood - must drink less coffee :-) )
