Elephants are the largest living land animals on Earth today. The Asian

elephant, Elephas maximus, is smaller than the African. It has smaller

ears, and typically, only the males have large external tusks.

Helpful comments and critique welcome.

Hi Ramesh,

 A wonderful elephant portrait !

You used a 7-300 mm zoom lens, but the details do not say which focal length you set the lens to.

I just wonder if the size of the elephant required the 70mm wider angle setting, or you kept a safer distance from him by using the 300mm setting .

Either way, very nice results my friend.

Best Regards,  Mike

This picture makes me understand much better than before why Indians decorate elephants!  The elephant is just stunning with the red dust/mud.  The picture is fantastic.  Perhaps even better if you had opened up the aperture a little more.  There was clearly a lot more depth of field than necessary, and both the nearest ground and the farthest trees could benefit from being blurrier.  best, j

You have done a fantastic job out of this zoo, I just hope you didn’t stress your self my friends, although every image you have posted out of it worth all of the hard time, this is a great example of your talent and remarkable handle of the situations and conditions with your expatriates dealing with the light and utilizing it to serve your photography, the elephant here comes with remarkable details and balanced skin tone while all of the surrounding present the actual wild life atmosphere.

Thank you my friend for sharing it and wishing you all of the best.

Great picture.  It would be even better if you could darken a bit of the ground by photoshop.  Thanks for this.  Best Regards,
