I think you have achieved it, to a degree, when i look at the image i look straight past the flower in focus because i want to know more about the musician, the croping out of the head adds to the mystery, My only critique would be if you were trying to capture mystique about the musician, perhaps he/she should have been playing the instrument, and possibly in a different setting, Not sure, but it would be interesting to see how it makes a difference.

Best Regards

Goeff,

I really love this photo. The only thing I would possibly do differently would be to exclude the flowers and try having the violin in focus and the musician blurring out as you do in the photo.

Otherwise great photo.

Geoff, I am always pleased to see a request regarding content. This is an interesting photograph and an interesting concept but I am not sure that I would get your intended message without your explanation. Were I trying to understand the content I would likely attempt some mental connection between the flowers and the violin. There is one thing that you can do that greatly improves the clarity of your message and that is to remove any element that does not add to the message you wish to tell. In this case that is the dark line on the left. Some judicious blurring of everything to the left of the person and the violin removes a lot of confusion from your photograph. Then cropping the top just above the hands lessens the importance of the person yet leaves what is important to say “musician” the hands and the instrument. Needless to say this is my opinion. It is nothing carved in stone. However, IMO, it does remove elements that do not add to the story.

Hi Gary, thanks a ton for your comments and your adjustments to the photo. I can see what you are saying and definitely agree that fewer elemnts help the message. This is just the feedback I need and am very grateful.
