The scene is really great, but I've got an impression that sharpness is a little bit insufficient...

Great shot - National Geographic material.

........ I like the composition here......... the family protection....... the fun in the mud etc.

But Jack is correct about the quality of focus, more noticable in the "bigger" picture. What I also notice is the strange colour saturation of purples/reds and greens.

You have shot this at about 700mm and I expect "handheld". Always a tricky situation.

My attempted rendition of a B&W image does remove the saturation issues and with a touch of "sharpening" I may have bettered the focus issue (very marginally).

A few of your other images (in your portfolio) taken at this focal length have also appeared a little soft........... I don't know what lens you use, but a tripod, although not always suited to the conditions, could help or, a lens that has Image Stabilisation.
