chris_raney 0 Posted September 10, 2011 My guess is that the setting was f4, so the primary focus is on the first boy, yet there is enough depth so the others don't simply dissolve into blurred irrelevance. There's terrific spontaneity in this shot, as if the second boy is pushing the smaller, braver boy toward you as a shield. You must have taken this quickly, because little kids have a habit of breaking into grins whenever they see a camera. Well done; terrific mystery in this shot. Link to comment
AlainD 0 Posted September 10, 2011 Thanks to all of you for your nice comments!Chris: you're almost right, it was f/5.6. But you're completely right when you suppose this shot had to be taken quickly. It was shot in a quite remote part of Vietnam, along a road away from the main villages. Unlike other places in Vietnam where children are used to cameras, these ones were very suspicious. First curiosity won... but fear rapidly increased so I could only take a few shots. The others are less interesting because the children all look like the boy on the left of the image. Thanks for the input! Link to comment
