john_merriam 0 Posted May 24, 2003 I've been a bit disappointed with my Canon G2s Macro feature so I sat at the kitchen table and took some manual shots while holding my halogen desk lamp at different angles for light. No Macro here, all manual with the light as described. I like the results better than the macro feature but am "needy" for input and suggestions. Link to comment
nickolay_lavrik 0 Posted May 24, 2003 Nice colors! If you would like to expand macro capabilities of your G2, I would suggest a snap-on macrolens. Even higher magnification and resolution can be acheived by using an inverting ring + a 50 mm fast (at least 1:2) lens. This way you can still use autofocus for fine focusing (the focusing range would be on the order of millimiters). I have used Pentax 50mm F1:1.4 together with Canon A40 and am very satisfied with the results (some photos are uploaded in my portfolio). Photo.net features a great in-depth article about digital macrotechnique by Mark Plonsky. Link to comment
