Hi Bill,

Indeed a beautiful scene captured.

Judging from the field of view seen here, even at 105mm focal setting, the use of F/5.6 would have provided ample DOF on the foreground subjects, including the main subject. More importantly, the definition would have been raised up a level as well. Your exposure could remain the same, while the ISO would become ISO 200. These above settings move you in the direction to obtain even better results.

The F-stop setting really sets the definition obtained in any image. The ISO sets the development of color and clarity obtained from the sensor.

You exposure was ample for a 105mm lens at 1/1250 second.
