bentes_world 0 Posted May 23, 2003 I like the technique you have used here. It adds to the look of her absence. Soft and dreamy. Link to comment
dmitry_gringauz 0 Posted May 23, 2003 Good artistic portrat. Lovely model, good subdued colors. Well done. I would have taken a bit easy on the blur, especially the hair, but that is entirely my preference. Link to comment
galina stepanova 0 Posted May 24, 2003 Vlad: nice style, you perfectly show mood and an expression. The sensation of painting. Very well done. Link to comment
jimmcnitt 0 Posted May 24, 2003 I think John's adjective ways it best -- "wistful." The blurring is a bit extreme, but it does fit the mood. Link to comment
roberto4 0 Posted May 26, 2003 beautiful portrait. the blur could be done more irregular and i would suggest to darken more the picture on the right. Link to comment
vlad po... 1 Posted May 26, 2003 Thanks everyone for your nice comments. Dmitry and Robert, yes, I see that I added a little bit too much blur. Robert, thanks for interesting suggestion. Will try. Maybe also try to make all background black. Link to comment
peta 0 Posted May 27, 2003 Vlad a lovely portrait of a lovely young lady. Beautiful expression. Link to comment
vlad po... 1 Posted May 27, 2003 Thanks a lot again everyone for wonderful comments and generous ratings. I'm a little bit confused with these high ratings. Maybe I'm too focused on that overdone blur, but I feel that it's bothering me. However, I see that most of critiquers don't consider it as a major crime. Anyway, there is a room for improvement, thanks for suggestions to Dmitry and Robert, I'll try. Link to comment
richard blount 0 Posted May 28, 2003 I like this very much, I think everything has already been said, but a little praise won't go amis. I like the very slight amount of white around the image but inside the frame, to me it gives the picture a bit of punch. The overall impression is one of a dreamy image, very moody. Link to comment
John Peri 1,035 Posted June 9, 2003 Blurr or not - who know? However, I did look at the photo for an awfully long time, and that to me is an indication of it's worth. Link to comment
victorok 0 Posted September 7, 2003 It is ;ovely picture. I am realy not sure that it was needed so much bluring. Crop also not too perfect. I think that little bit cut at the left and right can be useful. Link to comment
joe_garrick 0 Posted September 13, 2003 Although I tend to agree with the sense that there is too much PS work, I can't dispute the conclusion of John Peri - I also spent a long time looking at this photo. Link to comment
vlad po... 1 Posted October 30, 2003 Thanks folks for your nice posts and suggestions. As I said above I feel myself, that the blur is overdone a little bit. As for cropping or alternatively darkening, I think I like to try Robert's suggestion to burn out right side. Link to comment
