These flowers were from my wife to cheer me up after a hard week. I

think they made a great subject for photograph. Thanks so much for

Jerry, like your colors, interesting lighting, but find shadows a wee bit heavy. nice simple composition, fits nicely within the frame. a bit better definition would probably not hurt. all and all lovely work, well done!

Comparing this with your subsequent version that is front lit, I like this much better. It has more depth and less of a two-dimensional look. Also, the back lighting in this version makes the petals almost glow with their own light. Extraordinary depth of field for such a close shot.
