thadley 15 Posted August 21, 2011 very good clarity and great expression - love her eyes the way they are cheekily looking at the photographer. I remember reviewing a series of photos of this young lady in the past and there was something 'moody' or something that suggested that there were 'things' on her mind but that is not the case here - au contraire! All the best, Link to comment
JohnWebster 3 Posted August 22, 2011 A bad angle for anyone, even someone with good facial features, which she has not. The fill light is handled well. I would back her into some open shade, use a longer lens, and do more with her looking straight into the camera with no high or low camera angle. Point her nose straight at the lens---camera to subject distance of 15-20 ft. Link to comment
JohnWebster 3 Posted August 22, 2011 Is this your latest post of Katia, the girl you have documented through the years? I was harsh in my critique because I found little redeeming in this image---as if you did not understand how most girls/women would not appreciate this image. The images in your gallery of Katia are wonderful and show a really interesting beauty and varied personality---a tribute to her and to your skills at bringing out such richness. When you post a single image that shows so much wrong with it it is easy to believe you need help in understanding the human face and what most people find attractive. But you do know what you are doing, and if this is Katia, I believe she understands that this is just another side of her with which she is comfortable. If she is into acting she has a range of expressions that would impress any talent agent. Visit Marc Aubry's gallery to see what I mean. Link to comment
