audrey lee reid 0 Posted May 21, 2003 Early morning, flower market high in the hills of Bali. My PS skills are SAD - as such, I try to do as little as I can get away with! Here - the picture had lots of messy market BG, which I painted over then applied gaussian blur. Apart from that, I cropped, burnt, added contrast & USM. Link to comment
stacey_waselovich 0 Posted May 21, 2003 There are a lot of interesting contrasts here - especially the contrast between the brightness of the flowers and the faded clothing, and the contrast between the cheery flowers and the not-so-cheerful expressions. Very good. Link to comment
audrey lee reid 0 Posted May 22, 2003 Thankyou everyone for your kind feed backs. Stacey, observant of you to point out the contrast between the drab/sad people and the bright flowers. The ladies walk for miles to get to this place at daybreak, and hope to sell only what they can carry and for very little. Michel, the back drop to the image was buildings with ugly grills and a young girl in shorts and a white t-shirt with big black writing on it, which somehow looked out of place with the rest of the dress code. Guest Guest Posted May 23, 2003 Yes, this one is a real winner Audrey. I think you did excellently with the background as I don't think it shows PS work at all. The collection of people is excellent with that lady in the foreground being the real center of gravity for the image. Wonderful stuff. Link to comment
matthew_bender 0 Posted May 23, 2003 I like this image very much. I would be curious to see it with its actual background-- it might add another layer of contrasting imagery. Link to comment
nicolasray 0 Posted June 11, 2003 Without question this is a well thought out print. I really like the fact that none of the background women even glanced at the camera lens. Also, the muted colors only enhance your main subject. Your main subject occupies half of the frame. Three techniiques that bring focus to your subject...Excellent Link to comment
audrey lee reid 0 Posted June 16, 2003 Its really more luck then thought Nicolas, but I thank you for your very kind encouragement. Link to comment
